RMweb Gold Captain Kernow Posted July 7, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 7, 2021 I'm looking for a source of a yard crane of Midland Railway pattern, please. Didn't Mikes Models used to do a whitemetal kit? (presumably no longer available). I'd be grateful for any suggestions, please! Many thanks.

Poor Old Bruce
To me , that looks more like a wagon-mounted crane. Mike did do something which was more appropriate.
RMweb Premium uax6 Posted July 8, 2021 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 8, 2021 And it is still available from Holt's.... I bought both the yard crane and the one with the roll out counter balance for mounting on a wagon. Andy G

Looking at the photo of the instructions in close up, it does refer to being wagon-mounted! 11 hours ago, uax6 said: And it is still available from Holt's.... The LNWR type is pretty similar to the Peco crane.

I mostly soldered the whitemetal parts together using low melt solder. Where I had to glue, I used 5 minute epoxy. I haven't got the other kit you mention, so I can't help you, I'm afraid. MR Chuffer
7 minutes ago, paul 27 said: kit or ready made To my mind, it clearly shows a kit in the bag. I think Mike's Models were generally white metal kits. And I'm not the seller...! Edited July 26 by MR Chuffer
