RMweb Premium Blandford1969 Posted December 14, 2021 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 14, 2021 I got this for a present at the weekend. Its a very nice mix of some pictures that have been seen before in publications, but by the same degree a lot which have not. Just about every station had something new. Very much recommended. 1

Some of the locations were very rarely photographed in good weather or bright enough lighting, whereas others were of course the opposite being the preferred photographic locations for almost every cameraman of the day, which means sometimes authors are almost compelled to do what they can with those photographs that may have been seen by a devout few elsewhere, purely on the grounds that very little else survives that is either; (A) good enough quality to use. or (B) without breaching copyrights, as some images get sold off or given away and disappear into private collections never to re-emerge back into the public domain, sadly. (C) covers the location required well enough. The author on this title has been collecting and gathering materials for years to be able to put this 350 page work together. Once this final reprint has sold through we have another volume on the S & D to go out as we have been working on a different book for the last three years too.. Trade Member Strathwood Posted January 8, 2022 Author Trade Member Share Posted January 8, 2022 The third and final print run of this splendidly popular and well acclaimed title arrives in our warehouse on Monday, initial figures suggest that already 20%+ of the run has been pre-ordered, no more print runs after this one. If the S&D is of interest, why not bag the offering from Transport Treasury Publishing from us at the same time? https://strathwood.co.uk/products/the-somerset-dorset-railway-bath-to-bournemouth-the-main-line-and-branches?_pos=2&_psq=somerset&_ss=e&_v=1.0 https://strathwood.co.uk/products/somerset-and-dorset-commemorating-55-years-since-closure?_pos=1&_psq=somerset&_ss=e&_v=1.0 We also have a few of these left in stock if you are quick too... https://strathwood.co.uk/products/somerset-and-dorset-the-r-c-riley-archive-1955-1965-volume-2?_pos=3&_psq=somerset&_ss=e&_v=1.0 Kevin
