Although nearing the end of their revenue lives in 1981 they were still in use: the last I saw were condemned at Hoo in June 1983. https://paulbartlett.zenfolio.com/brgunpowder Even pre-nat vans were still around c1980 https://paulbartlett.zenfolio.com/gwrgunpowdercxv https://PaulBartlett.zenfolio.com/lmsgunpowdercxv which included one in Truro in 1979 https://PaulBartlett.zenfolio.com/lmsgunpowdercxv/e3aa752a5 Paul 1 1

woodenhead
Video time, we don't see a lot of decent pre 1990 video, this one even has a Peak on Mk3s at Stockport on a service train (it came back the other way behind an 86 later in the video).

60B
I feel like Dumbarton Road comes up semi regularly. But there is a lot to take in here. Not sure I'd want to be in that car approaching the junction from an untreated road. 1 hour ago, Mol_PMB said: From Ernie on Flickr, the 'Banger Blue' era. Even on the steam Sentinel trying to upstage the rodent on the main line. Quite a catch, that. The old Tennent site is now a B&Q I think. I'm marrying an Airdrie lady so spent a lot of time tracing maps of Coatbridge/ Airdrie/ Motherwell/ Hamilton's industrial history. A lot of which is long forgotten/ built over but there are still hints when knowing where to look. I'm on the understanding her great grandfather was killed at Bairds of Gartsherrie in a shunting incident. 9

Makes it sound quite exotic! Heuston has changed quite a bit but it still has Phoenix Park in the background. David
