Not for very long until they were replaced by BR Mk. I horseboxes which became riding vans and inspection saloons.

Hornby (in recent times) have produced very good models of both ex GWR and ex LMS horse boxes in BR livery.  Ok, not currently in production but I'm sure they could be found on 'you know where'.
