Sandbagging before they've even turned a wheel?

It's called "Managing Expectations". And is probably less infuriating than saying "Actually we only have to turn up every weekend and the championships will be ours".

Learning from Toto. At this stage, while we might be confident Merc-powered cars will have a good engine again, the changes to permitted aero features means neither Binotto nor anyone else knows what the pecking order will be. If Ferrari have a better engine, and the best aero, things could change. ISTR early last season an aero specialist said he thought Ferrari had gone the wrong way with their design, while others........

Binotto quotes 1968 as the last year Ferrari had such a young driver-pairing. Looks like that was Ickx and Amon. Ferrari had despaired of Italian drivers, having lost Bandini at Monaco in 1967 - I recall watching that on tv - and then Scarfiotti died in a hill-climb earlier in '68. The fact that both Ickx and Amon survived their F1 careers says they were lucky in that era! Ickx has a rather pretty and petite daughter who has raced in this century.

He said at the beginning of last season that they could not correct their issues before 2022, when they can make use of major rule changes to catch up.

The original photo in the article has both Lewis and Valtteri in it - in the version in Rocor's post, Lewis has been digitally removed.

But they failed to also digitally remove the 44 from the car. If you're going to tell a joke, at least tell it properly. :)
