LNER D.245 & D.120 numbering sequence in 1947

Hi all,

I'm normally southern focused, however I have a few projects on the go which require some LNER specific information.

I'm looking to understand what numbers the D.245 full brakes and D.120 pigeon vans would've had in 1947 (specifically, i'm not sure when renumbering, if any took place)

Thanks in advance!

in his 1973 David & Charles book, Michael Harris says "Although described as the 1946 scheme it seems that from about 1943 new numbers were allocated, chiefly to rolling stock under construction. This cannot be confirmed." ...... which doesn't help you a lot - other than suggesting that the nominal 1946 numbers were probably in use for your projects : D.245 ; 70412-25/48-76/499-508/14/740/751-66 : D120 ; 70192-237/39-50 ......... each group less a handful of withdrawals.

  • Thanks 1
