I'm sure it would look better painted black too. Like this...........Just a quickie repaint, done yesterday on a £10 purchase and, unlike any Mainline loco, it runs beautifully. And the wheels haven't fallen off, or jammed...... Edited August 9, 2023 by 33C added photo.
Butler Henderson
Wonder if it be possible to fit the valve gear off the current model.
33C
Has anybody got Triang-Hornby sets with the photo's of the models, set in a photo-shopped landscape, that covered the track and tunnel mouth's? (Pic.1)Also, the drawn side panel type, e.g. "Express Passenger"? (Pic.2) If so, can you post a picture? Trying to find out just how many kinds there are. Would also like to know more about the artists of the latter. D. ivory, Ken Rush and C. Harrison were three i know about. Looks like the sort of thing that would be supplied by Hornby to be sold through a catalogue or a chain of department stores in the days when they had sensible toy departments. Its the sort of thing that t'internet and all the rest swept away. 1

Considering we can ridicule jigsaws, that strange LNER smokeboxed LMS Princess with GWR Castle inside cylinder block is just as bad....

33C
Red wheels, tension locks, no rods or buffers....but plenty of atmosphere! You don't get this anymore... Edited July 16 by 33C added photo.
RMweb Gold Hroth Posted July 16 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 16 (edited) Scrolling down, I thought "it'd be good to include Dockmaster" and you beat me to it! As the loco in DM is a clockwork one direction only machine, it would be pointless to have a front coupling, and the loco illustration is accurate in all respects, red plastic wheels, no rods, no buffers. One of Triangs most basic offerings! You also get a van, a wagon and a circle of R1 Super 4 track... Triang RS.70 Dockmaster Oh yes, and a key!
