Or for the full Kill Bill effect, two of each, one gun in each hand and the swords in crossed scabbards...

Don't give her ideas, I have to live with her you know!

Did you have a choice? 😄😄😄👹

Probably not. I think that I was hooked from the moment she said hello followed by "I like your boots".

I like her quirks and I could have done a whole world of worse...

Daren't ask what she sees in me, that might break the spell!

Join the club Rob. I used to wonder what the bride ever saw in me all those years past, but we celebrate 45 years of 'I do' tomorrow and life is sweet, so enjoy the wonders you both share.

Very best,

Bill

Or this.

Ah, I missed this, hence my confusion with the car! I do have a 1" smooth bore Brown Bess though, should you need back up, although the reload between discharges is a tad longer.

Good night all,

Bill

Sorry I meant the gun ...

I thought that was what you meant!

But you never can tell on here sometimes.

It is a deactivated MP40 machine pistol, made by Steyr in 1941.

Oddly enough, that's where the Memsahib got her interest in antique weapons from, her grandfather has several flintlock rifles in working condition and plenty of space to fire them.

Me? I just saw too many war films as a kid...

There speaks the voice of a true cynic.

When I met Miss R, I didn't know that she liked obscure music, motorbikes, steam trains and things that go bang.

But I will agree with you absolutely about my first wife and ninety per cent of my previous girlfriends...

Those 'distant' images illustrate just how open and spacious this lovely layout is Rob.

 Nothing cluttered.

Of course, a 20ft long layout is not small but the restraint you've shown has paid dividends. Some would have been tempted to build a  'Clapham Junctionesque ' trainset in the same area.  Disaster !

A classic case of less is undeniably more.

Like many, I'm sure, I shall look forward to seeing Aston in  it's new home at Wolf Hall.

Rob.

Would just like to echo what previous posters have said Rob.  And I like your tactic of getting Aston in before the furniture - good plan!

Hope the move goes smoothly and looking forward to seeing more of the layout.

Yes, we're moving three miles or so to a place that will be much easier for the Memsahib to commute from (No more running about to catch trains) plus I have more space to work, that's also secure and we have plenty of room to indulge in our hobbies and interests.

I sorted out most of the paperwork last Tuesday, so it's been a matter of boxing up our belongings and clearing out the workshop.
