PatB
This very interesting and high quality footage of the Wuppertal Suspended Railway just popped up on one of my social media feeds. I thought it may be of interest. 4

RMweb Premium Grovenor Posted September 5, 2020 RMweb Premium Share Posted September 5, 2020 Quote Here’s a fascinating 4-minute video that offers a tiny window into what life in one German town was like back in 1902. Actually looks remarkably devoid of life, where is everybody? For life see that film of San Francisco from the front of a tram.

It's interesting to note that the population of the city has fallen. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wuppertal
RMweb Premium Grovenor Posted September 5, 2020 RMweb Premium Share Posted September 5, 2020 On my trip we had a tour in the Kaiser's private car, very nicely restored.

I trust that you successfully resisted the strong urge to commission any ridiculously large warships, or invade Belgium.

RMweb Premium CloggyDog Posted September 6, 2020 RMweb Premium Share Posted September 6, 2020 A bunch of us (includng Pixie and Taigatrommel of this parish) did one of the afternoon Kaffe und Kuchen trips in the Kaiserwagen a few years back, as part of a long weekend based in Wuppertal for the Intermodellbau Dortmund show. Heris do (did?) an H0 mode of the newest GTW sets, Joswood.de do H0 lasercut portals (both river and street) and there used to be an H0 lasercut kit of the Kaiserwagen, sold through the Schwebebahn's shop, though I'm not sure it's still in production. Ask Pixie to show you his bookends.
