They still seem to be talking about extending the line back to Lynn at some stage, though given the apparent state of the rest of the MBTA network (as experienced in the 8 days I was in Boston), getting the money might be a challenge! It started out as a streetcar line that went underwater through the East Boston Tunnel (1904). This was converted in 1924, over an extra-long weekend, to a high platform subway system with third rail. The cars were short to go around a loop in downtown. I think there was just one station on the other side. In the 1950s this was extended to Revere Beach. The extension used overhead power. There is a changeover at Maverick station. I do wonder if it's an over re-action to one bad review. When they were younger he tabby cat sat right next to me whilst I ate a cheese roll but didn't do anything more than sit there. They are vey good natured cats. Classsix T Posted August 2 Share Posted August 2 Remedee has developed a real enthusiasm for outside now, not discouraged, but because she's not been spayed (although I believe not old enough to become in heat) and is still little I have to chaperone her. Unfortunately she is now smart enough to have cottoned on how Mia gets in and out. And so it was as soon as I left home to visit Dad in hospital on Wednesday I was already regretting not shutting the downstairs window. Like I didn't have enough to worry about, sure enough she was nowhere to be seen when I returned later in the day. With much relief I found her in the back garden and scolded myself whilst fussing her as I carried her back inside. Mia now has another reason to not like her smaller housemate then, as I have to shut them both inside (or Mia outside) if I leave the property for any length of time. Once titch is spayed of course I shan't have a problem with her going out, once she's learnt the way indoors is the reverse of how to get out!
