RMweb Gold Popular Post NeilHB Posted July 29, 2021 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted July 29, 2021 Tigger is quite happy with his choice of sunbathing spots around the house at the moment. Sun run floor first thing: On our bed in the afternoons: Ah the life of a pampered cat!
Classsix T
Mia gets quite fidgety with the warm weather, trying to find a "nest" she's comfortable with. Moulting like a demon at the moment too. C6T.
Classsix T
Many of the On Cats regulars won't be interested, but a nice crossover for us also frequenting the Gamer's Lounge (unnecessarily hostile article title btw): https://kotaku.com/give-me-the-stray-cat-game-right-now-and-nobody-gets-hu-1847389472 C6T. Popular Post steve1
An old lady at rest. We are sadly aware that Olly will quite likely to have moved on to a higher plane of existence before this year’s end. All we can do and are doing, is to make her life as comfortable and stress-free as possible and hope it helps. steve 1

RMweb Premium Compound2632 Posted July 31, 2021 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 31, 2021 My parents' old cat Emma used to keep the young cat, George, in his place with occasional swipe. In her old age she would do this in her sleep, if his shadow passed by.
RMweb Premium Popular Post J. S. Bach Posted July 31, 2021 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted July 31, 2021 (edited) A friend just let me know that his cat had to be put to sleep yesterday, I had very moist eyes. I always enjoyed playing with his cat when I visited. RIP Genevieve: Edited February 25 by J. S. Bach To replace a missing photo 1

RMweb Gold Popular Post Nick C Posted August 2, 2021 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted August 2, 2021 I'd like to introduce Benji. He's a 10-month old rescue, he came to us from a foster home on Thursday. By Saturday afternoon we were getting really worried as he hadn't eaten anything and was cowering behind the spare room wardrobe, but then he started eating voraciously, and last night it was as if someone had thrown a switch - within 2 hours he went from hiding constantly to demanding attention, almost shredding the carpet in his attemtps to dig his way out of the room - so much so that it was then difficult for us to open the door! He was introduced to Bonnie very briefly last night, then again this morning - there was a little hissing, but nothing more, so hopefully there won't be any aggression between them. She seems upset though, and goes out to the garden every time she sees him - where of course he can't follow. Hopefully that will ease as they get to know each other - we're making sure to give her plenty of attention, and will make sure he's shut up at night for the next few days so she can keep her usual bed-time routine. 19
Popular Post SRman
My new laptop was delivered yesterday, so I spent much of the day setting it up and copying my files across from the old one. Half a day later, it was rendered unusable! 16

RMweb Premium Ian Smeeton Posted August 3, 2021 RMweb Premium Share Posted August 3, 2021 my cat crawled across the Keyboard, padding keys as she went, when I returned a few minutes later the display had rotated by 90 degrees. Took some serious mouse work to get it back to normal! Regards Ian 1
Wacol
That's nothing. I lay down the ipad used to control my layout and my cat walks over to it, stands on it, turns around a couple of times and suddenly trains are moving. He has done that twice now. Whose layout is it, anyway? 4 5
Edwin_m
I think lying on the laptop is something to do with the heat that comes off it. Rather like lying on top of a lap. 1
RMweb Premium Compound2632 Posted August 3, 2021 RMweb Premium Share Posted August 3, 2021 It's all to do with being at the focus of attention. The cat craves to be at the focus of attention, will work out where your attention is focused, and place itself there. This goes hand-in-paw with the pin-down strategy: sit on your lap, so you can't get up or even reach for the crossword or whatever... 2

Heat most certainly...Years ago we had a VHS player, it was always switched on... this was a virtually permanent snoozing place for one of the cats, when the video machine eventually died, I notice the metal case was totally stoved in on top, where this rather hefty moggy had spent several years worth of warm and happy hours.
