I doubt any of them were ever cleaned in their BR service lives, and they got dirty pretty quickly in the 60s! This looks about right for 1968/9, when they were being withdrawn. Your image reminds me a bit of Woking - there was a similar row of shops running alongside the station and station approach. You have some roads with third rail too!
