Yes, the Midland, the GNR and the GCR all bought Baldwin 2-6-0s and the Midland additionally bought ten Schenectady moguls in 1899/1900 when British locomotive builders and the railway companies’ own works couldn’t meet their requirements.

But I also blotted my copybook with my fellow Midland modellers at Mark when I also let some of my lesser motive power pull the breakdown train.

Like this little Peckett

And my little Andrew Barclay

But when the Brush diesel appeared, tongues really started to wag.

Will my position in the Midland Railway Society survive?

Well, we got back to North Hipposhire through some precipitation of occasional biblical proportions to find that Hunt Towers is still standing but has a garden full of debris and the wind is still bringing more. However, I had a great day yesterday at Mark and let some of my locomotives stretch their legs.

The Schenectady mogul with the breakdown train (that one specially for NHN).

Dave

Thank you Dave.

Ever since I saw the photo of that loco in MRJ several moons ago, I have been entranced by it.  I'm not sure why (other than its rather superb build) as I don't do Midland, S7 or old tyme US stuff.  Funny old world. It just has captivated me, and a similar, rather cruder 32mm gauged version would never get around my horrendous curves on my 0 Gauge layout anyway, but......sigh.  I am in awe of your skills.

Or Deltics....😢

Or 66s either, I have several in 00 but really would like one in 0; I have given up on the Dapol one.

A Deltic would not be too bad either but my 0 scale mrr dollars are a bit short for the near future.

#thinks - is that GWR 4-6-0 in the background yours too? #ducks#

Absolutely not Neil but it was stuck there all day in the naughty corner as attempts to get it to move proved fruitless 😫

Try that here and you run the risk you'll not see them - or your money again....

I know where they live and Dave Hunt will zoom over and drop-off HH should there be any need for a bit of agro.

but Its 100% natural so it has to be good.

What can be bad about things that are 100% natural?     - isn't that a  positive selling point in the parts of the world that don't have 100% natural sharks, and 100% natural crocodiles and 100% natural snakes?

Our moose and elk are 100% natural too. What's not to like?

"In the United States alone, two million collisions with ungulates (like deer and moose) kill approximately 440 people, injure about 59,000 people, and cause more than US$10 billion of economic losses annually. Collisions with moose are especially dangerous due to their large size and height."
