I did know someone who tried to do it himself with cotton buds and made a right mess of his ear that ended up needing hospital visits so maybe that won’t be an option though. RMweb Gold Happy Hippo Posted April 24 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted April 24 What you require is an aural auger If you put the handle into a power drill, and with the correct alignment, you can go from one ear right through to the other side without withdrawing the tool. 1 2 2

Dave I used a well.known ear drop ( the name escapes me) for mine instead of the olive oil they suggested to soften stuff up before my syringing When it came to my appointment a week later they said there was nothing to remove, so it obviously works quite well. Bach Posted April 24 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 24 9 hours ago, polybear said: At the Great Empire there was a spate of bog wall poetry in one of the cubicles, starting with: "Here I sit, broken hearted....about to download when Taccy Bell started" I remember one (well, part of one) on a stall wall in a rest area on the PA Turnpike that started with the regular doggerel: "Here I sit Broken-hearted Came to **** And only f@rted." The second verse had these two lines plus the two "Dah dah dahs" that I do not remember: "?Dah dah dah Took a chance ?Dah dah dah **** my pants" I think that the first "Dah dah dahs" line may have been something like: "Felt an urge" Anyway I liked it so much that I was going to go out to the bus we were dead-heading back to Cleveland and bring back paper and a pen to copy it down. Either I did not complete the mission or the stall was occupied when I got back and I did not wait around. Unfortunately, rhyming that "urge" has stumped me for years! Note that this was back around 1978 or so and even now the mighty Google has been no help! 3 10
RMweb Gold Happy Hippo Posted April 24 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted April 24 After getting a summer haircut this morning, I decided to share the joy and gave the front and back lawns a trim, so they wouldn't feel left out. I now need to sort out the recycling for tomorrow's collection and then beautify myself for tomorrow morning's hospital appointment. It's a 0730 start at the PRH, so I don't want to be rushing about that early in the morning. With my start up requirements, I'll need to get up around 0600.... But I then might afford myself the luxury of bacon for breakfast. In other news, I've just been informed that the bullpup air rifle that I ordered a few weeks back, has now been built and will be delivered by the RFD on Saturday evening. That news comes hot on the heels of the email informing me that the carbine I sent back to the manufacturer for a complete overhaul, is now ready for collection. I might be going to collect it on Friday, but it all depends on how I feel after the nail bed removal. Last time, I was a bit sore and my arm was in a sling. Of course I'm going to the model show at the NEC on Sunday, so the zeroing/re zeroing of these two rifles will have to wait until next week before I can set them up. 12 1

RMweb Gold Happy Hippo Posted April 25 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted April 25 Got to the hospital at 0725 for a 0730 admission. It's now coming up to 0910 and I'm still waiting. It looks as if I'm number four in a queue of four. They seen to be dealing with those who require a GA first. Hospital chairs are particularly bum numbing. 1

RMweb Gold Happy Hippo Posted April 25 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted April 25 Things are looking up. A cup of tea and a packet of ginger nuts (biscuits) have just arrived. The GA recipients are looking over in this direction in obvious unbridled envy. I am unmoved by their plight. 9 3

I can remember the TV series but I suspect I was in the room while my parents watched it rather than actively watching it. I do remember the theme tune and also being intrigued that one of the actors had Jr after his name despite being an adult. Isn’t it odd what gets recalled.
