My mother always used to make a few rounds of cheese sandwiches to eat at bedtime. This wasn’t something I continued after leaving home. I have found over the last year or so eating cheese in the evening gives me indigestion. It never used to.

That's a regular statement on the Amazon tracking for some of Bear's parcels - even those where I've never seen them and they never rung the doorbell..... Come to think of it, I might just fire off a Snottogram........... managingdirector@amazon.co.uk 6

RMweb Gold Hroth Posted December 14, 2023 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 14, 2023 I once had a delivery from a courier that had a picture of the parcel on my doorstep. This was all well and good, apart from the minor fact that IT WAS NOT MY DOORSTEP... It turned out that the driver was carp at using his satnav and had delivered to the right house number, but in a road with a completely different name. Took ages to sort out!

The same can be said for careers and what one hopes for and what one gets. My sister always wanted a career in television, so my father, who worked for the BBC, managed to get her an audition for Bruce Forsythe's Generation Game. It was all going brilliantly, until Bruce said: 'Give us a twirl, Alison! And that was the end of her career in television. 1 1

RMweb Premium SM42 Posted December 14, 2023 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 14, 2023 My latest parcel currently resides across the road with a neighbour. At least this tine the postie has told me which neighbour has it. This is all the more surprising as tracking data showed it was in Germany yesterday evening. A certain company was regularly very good at declaring parcel delivered when no such thing has occurred. Calls to customer services prompted conversations like " Do you have a brown door?' " No" "It's been delivered to your house with a brown door and a white window next to it" " I don't have a brown door, nor white windows" " Well we have a photo of it outside your front door" " What colour is the door?" " Brown' " I haven't got a brown door" " I'll send the photograph of your door so you can see where it was left" ( and supposedly signed for) At least I was able to work out where it had gone. Right number. Wrong street, but I still don't have a brown door. In brighter news, I only have to go to work one more time this year. Yahay! RMweb Gold Happy Hippo Posted December 14, 2023 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted December 14, 2023 I have just spent the last 35 minutes putting out the exterior Christmas lights. They all work, and there were no power outages in the Telfland area when I switched on. I have deployed three sets, one of which was new last year: The other two are pretty ancient, so I'll replace them both in the new year sales.... When I pick up all the Christmas cards, wrapping paper and any decorations that we feel are in need of replacement. 8

Although I rather like magnolia I don’t have a magnolia door. I think ours is a sort of brown, probably walnut stain. It is similar to the colour of the rosewood effect UPVC window frames.,
RMweb Premium jamie92208 Posted December 14, 2023 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 14, 2023 We have a brown door with several panes of glass in it however the big river has failed miserably to deliver the router collects so I can't work on the shutters tomorrow. The tracking info says they are very sorry and if it isn't here by the 18th to contact them. That's no use as we depart for the UK on the 19th.
