Careless talk and all that

All I did was mention a pannier.

Things seem to have got slightly out of hand and it's brought the evil despot side of somsmbers to the fore.

Good job I didn't mention  sheds

Oh !!

I think the UN might class that as "Cruel and Unusual Punishment".

In fact next time you're down this neck of the woods, I'll have my valet and the butler tie you to a chair, get all the DCC sound diesels out and  just set them running on idle whilst you are forced to listen

A certain rather well known Muddler went to an Exhibition (MIOG maybe?) where pretty much every layout was of a shed scene littered with DCC Sound Diesels idling; he lasted about 20 minutes before heading for the nearest preserved railway and spent the day there instead.

At least it hasn't descended to where the D299 thread has gone.  That got censored.

Oh, no! A gap hasn't been mentioned that's on the D299 thread. in my knowledge of the GWR has come to light.

Hangs head in shame.

Will HH ever speak to me again?

You can live in hope Dave,

The last 4 pages have kept me very amused whilst bored to tears in the waiting area at Stansted.  Off to find a gate now.

I predict you will go up some stairs, down some stairs, up again before going back down to get to the aircraft.

After a morning standing in the drizzle (it was forecast to be sunny today) doing some garden plotting and planning, I will be doing more of the same this afternoon at Broseley where we are having an meet up for a bit of  a railway fest.

I've been to all three of the MIOG shows and TMD layouts were definitely in the minority.

Possibly the show you are referring to was DEMU.

Why on earth have a Shed when you could have a Garage?  Weird.

Or even better have both...

Afternoon all,

Been busy lately. I took the ACT yesterday, (the real one, not a drill!) and went fairly well. I will learn my scores within a few months.

I have also been in the garage messing about with the Rivett getting the press made, and it’s going quite well so far.

The D class is still stuck in customs in Chicago, now on day 6. Apparently the Chicago IPS has a history of labor issues, in that said labor does not labor. Oh well, nowt I can do.

Depends on how much room you have.

Many people don't have room for a Shed...

We're in Jamie's shed again aren't we?

Meanwhile we have an ant infestation in the kitchen.

Cake is at risk.

Fortunately the only casualty is carrot cake.

They can have that

Pedantry warning.

There were others:

  • Achilles class 4-2-2 No. 3013 Great Britain, also a BG engine of the Iron Duke class of 1847, replaced by an engine of the Rover class in 1880;
  • Castle class 4-4-0 No. 7007 Great Western, and likewise an Iron Duke/ Rover.

And there was me thinking that the G*R had only two types of locos.

Panneers and 4-6-0s....

DEMU Showcase is not the home of lots of diesel TMDs.

TBH - the MIOG show at Rawtenstall ( pre-covid?)  did have more than a fair share of depot layout.

Broseley did not happen this afternoon.

The head cold that was supposed to be nearly finished, took about 100 paces backwards.

The drugs and whisky have helped, but it will be an early night tonight.

There was a time when that company had some really quite civilised-looking engines:
