I reckon that if you added together all the potholes round our way that you could fit the government* in quite easily.

And wouldn't that be a good idea.

I think that I'm going to need a group of men in longblack macs with trilby and bowler hats to complete the scene as well as a 1923 double decker in 7mm.

And apart from having a bus on the bridge (as previously described in detail), for that authentic “train set“ look you will also need.............

What are your contributions to this list of cliches?

But we do know how many holes it takes to fill the Albert Hall and that's just in Blackburn, Lancashire.

But note that there is still a bus ON the bridge in keeping with Ridcully's law of conservation of cliches.

Knowing Jamie's typing, should it be a bus off a fridge?

Ribble 1, Lancaster Corporation 0!

When I was much younger, I was taken by my Father to oversee the extraction of a Lincolnshire Bristol VRT double decker out of the top of a tree! He was the Leading Driver, (new name for Inspector), at the time.

The bus was on service 1 approaching the old Leadenham station site. There is still a disused road over rail bridge at the Lincoln end of the yard on the A607. The tree had grown up from the trackbed. As the bus approached the right hand corner it slid on Black Ice.
The Recovery gang were scratching there heads for while, trying to figure out how to get bus out.

I do like this one, the bus is on the site of Crystal Palace High Level station, the bridge is the pedestrian route to the glass building.

Nah it'll be alright. Just taking a short cut.

Bus replacement service?

Nyda allegedly returns from N Wales this afternoon.

Luckily the  three Ellis Clark Trains Presflo cement wagons arrived this morning.

First impressions are of an outstanding model(s).

They were still on the No 1 siding at Pantmawr North when Gordon turned up, so we were able to admire them over a cup of tea and a chocolate wafer biscuits.

We then cracked on with the scenic work:  Gordon getting on with the embankment at the North end and I've started on the Bridge abutments at the South end.  This is one of the jobs that has to be done in stages as there is to be a retaining wall where all the switch gear will be located, so the retaining wall build, the final wiring and the fitting of the panel have to be slotted in to the correct fixing sequence.

Still, I have some peace and quiet this afternoon, so I would hope to get on with a bit more of the carcass for the walling.

There seem to be so many variations on how bridges are constructed, that it sometimes seems difficult to work out the best design for the location.

Sadly, due to the pressure with space on the scenic boards, the South end is vey much the cliche of a overbridge acting as a perpendicular mask over the tracks into the cassette storage.  At least the North end bridge is built on the skew.

The West Wing has power

Just needs some paint on the walls and some heating.

East wing has the first walls plastered.

Getting nervy now as the in laws arrive on the 19th.

Andy ( can anyone else smell wet plaster? )

But, that can (sometimes) be correct:

I took this photo (in West Pelzer, SC) on a Saturday and found out later the 3751 had come out of the paint shop a few days earlier.

It's good to see Shortlines keeping their locos in good condition.

Is #3751 a GP9?

No, only one bus required for DCC.

The South end bridge is more of a bridle way rather than a fully fledged road.

The North End bridge is best described as 'low relief' so perhaps a young lad looking over the parapet will be about as much as it will need.

All these ends....

It's probably fortunate we didn't opt for an off scene rail served foundry that cast bells.

Yes, from Wiki:

"Unit 3751 was formerly ECBR 6513 (2003–2007), formerly PTR 6513 (1987–2003) and originally B&O 6513 (1957–1987) - EMD frame no. 5519-3, serial no. 22987, built May 1957."

So will you be taking a scan of yourself so that scale version can be created and placed on the bridge as a believe the owner of the ECML representation has done.

3D printing is so lightweight. To fully appreciate myself, I had a bronze sculpture instead :20220707_185016.thumb.jpg.6d0766be270f1686e21bb0e8259c06a8.jpg
