Mike
Buildings placement almost finalized just need to add a couple more after the one I started Saturday morning using my favourite material 2mm Liteply and got it to the state shown after a couple of hours. Barnaby
Very nice Mike you do build up a village atmosphere with your buildings. Real imagination but they all have a reasoned purpose to be there. Great.
ManofKent
I dread to think how much house prices are in such a desirable village! Lovely modelling.
Mike
Almost, but not quite sorted the placements, still more to do before I can start the groundwork then it's on to the harbour and the trawler. Mike
OH ******, ran out of tiles so just placed an order and whilst I was at it, down-pipe fittings and guttering. Now that the position of the buildings are finally sorted I can get the ground work sorted and fix and finish each of them. Here are a few photos. harris0169
Hi Mike Apologies if you have answered this before: - what tiles do you use? Same make as the walling you mentioned before? And - How is the stone walling made? Thanks in advance Andy

Mike
Hookton update: Guttering and down-pipe brackets now arrived from ModelU, paint and Evergreen plastic and Wills granite sets due on Monday, so no excuses not to crack on. In the meantime here are a few happy snaps showing some progress. Edited May 16, 2021 by Mike added photo 10 1

Mike
Being as I do not intend to use the coach I thought about building a rail-bus. I manged to acquire 2 Rio Fiat Buses at a silly low price £10.00 for the two. The power unit will be a Tenshodo motor bogie inside a luggage van between both buses. I have just lashed up a modified chassis for one of them and the none-weighted motor bogie pulls and pushes it with ease. Photo just to show how it might look. 4 1 1
Mike
The rail-bus chassis is almost complete and is very free running. Using the powered van has allowed for almost all the detail on the bus chassis to stay in place with only a little bit of modification. The photo shows the van having propelled the bus the length of the layout. I did video it but for some reason it wouldn't upload. I'll try again once the second chassis is completed. Mike
Needed to make a pilot for the front of the rail bus chassis, it's surprising what a platform bench can provide.
Mike
Just for comparison 2 benches 2 pilots. 7
Mike
Thought it was about time to start building the boat and for no particular reason I tried a couple of figures on the benches. The cabin is not fitted to the deck housing as it needs a lot more work to complete.

Mike
Started work on the boat albeit slowly, the wheelhouse is only placed for effect as there is still lots to do. It will need a good clean before any paint gets near it.
