Londontram
Not sure where to post this so mods please move it if you know anywhere better. Spotted this news update on the web with an obvious mistake that leapt out at me so thought I'd see if it does you too. Blackthorn
Probably written by some spotty Oik and thought, "It's close enough for the general public...never mind details....it'll just confuse 'em...". Assuming the writer knows one end of a locomotive from another.
stewartingram
Assuming the writer knows one end of a train from another. Surely he shoiuld have said this? They don't know better! Stewart
jim.snowdon
In much the same way as Flying Scotsman is usually associated with the LNER, even though the original design was a Great Northern one. Jim 1

That's a bit harsh of him, especially as it isn't claiming to be a particular locomotive that did exist. It's still a Peppercorn A1, just an extra one, with some of its parts built to more modern standards and techniques (which is quite possibly what Peppercorn would have done, were he still with us). RMweb Gold Happy Hippo Posted March 26, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 26, 2020 Lept out at me: Surely it should be leapt? A cunning trick, showing a picture of a loco to throw people of the sent scent.

Jim I suppose it is not as bad as those pseudo-vintage road vehicles used as delivery vans and wedding cars and the like that were just re-bodied Transit vans
