Well, that killed this Thread off, it seems.!!!  :fool:

Not in the slightest sir, I see this thread as a prelude to Lent, all sack cloth and ashes! Of course continuing that quasi-religious theme, one has to say “let him that is without sin cast the first stone”. As a frequent sinner and long term procrastinator I have earned my right.

Surely that should be "let them that is without sin cast the first stone".

"Let those that are without sin....."  ?? :scratchhead::dontknow:

Never mind the Rivet Police - the Pedantry Police &/or Grammar Police will be swarming all over us soon... :help: :jester:

Where is the line drawn between a crime and enjoying yourself?

Mike.

Great that they built a special 7/8ths size version to run on British rails.:jester:

Hi Phil,

That's quite fun but I built a BR Standard version from two Dapol 9F kits:

BR Std 2-6-8-0 mallet fitted with mechanical stoker and a Giesel ejector.

Do cut and shut 50' K Type all steel Pullman baggage cars count as a modelling crime ?

I had to something with my leftover bits .

I haven't any pics but I cut'n'shut an old Hornby-Dublo horse box body by removing the horse section and fitted it to an Airfix cattle wagon chassis.

Minor crimes:

Coaching stock largely made from cut n shut Triang clerestories. Running an ex M&SWJR locomotive that was scrapped c1930 on a layout set in Shropshire c1938. Having no idea where I should position signals or what type or how many. ( In mitigation I will soon be pestering you all on the subject and I give you advance warning that it will be like trying to show your grandma how to use Skype / Whatsapp / AutoCAD.)

Major crime:

Probably dragging a WW2 German railway gun round a layout with a Triang Lord of the Isles at a scale 200mph....

As for SWMBO, To offset any guilt about spending your dough on big boys toys; DO take her somewhere expensive and buy her the kind of pretty, shiny things she loves. I did, it may not have been the smartest move...

How does using brown sugar as ballast rate on the criminal scale? To be fair the perpetrator was 11 and it did look roughly the right size..... asking for a “friend” 35 years older and hopefully wiser!

It’s ok until you spill your tea or coffee on the layout.
