Administrators Popular Post AY Mod Posted February 4, 2020 Administrators Popular Post Share Posted February 4, 2020 BACHMANN EUROPE ANNOUNCE FIRST NEW PRODUCTS FOR 2020 Bachmann Europe Plc today announced twenty new products across its Bachmann Branchline and Scenecraft OO scale ranges, each of which will be available from Bachmann stockists during the next three months. In addition, more than thirty previously announced items from Bachmann Branchline, Graham Farish and Scenecraft were confirmed for release during Spring 2020. These new arrivals follow hot on the heels of the numerous new items that were released in late-2019 which included the OO scale J72 Steam Locomotives, Ransomes & Rapier 45T Steam Cranes, Class 158 Diesel Multiple Units (DMUs) and the first Class 24/1 Diesel Locomotives. Amongst the items arriving during Spring are the all-new Class 159 DMUs, the remaining Class 24/1s and the first of the Graham Farish N scale Thompson Coaches. In January 2020 Bachmann Europe outlined its plan to announce new products on a quarterly basis when it published its 2020 catalogue – the Bachmann Europe Model Railway Combined Volume 2020. The Combined Volume brings together all of Bachmann’s Britishoutline model railway ranges, featuring items that are either available to purchase from Bachmann retailers or have been included in previous catalogues for delivery at a future date. The Combined Volume (item No. 36-2020) will be available to purchase from Bachmann stockists from next week (w/c 10th February 2020). The new items announced today feature in the Spring 2020 British Railway Announcements – a new supplement available exclusively with the quarterly Bachmann Times magazine. 4 10

The Black Hat
Are there new class 158s? As I presume Andy in his opening introduction is referencing 159s instead.

Was the last of the first batch to come out

Steamport Southport
Going almost head to head with Hornby with the unallocated, late era GWR Toad.... https://railsofsheffield.com/products/39955/Bachmann-33-300h-oo-gauge-gwr-20t-toad-brake-van-gwr-grey I really do like the Class 37 though. ndg910
I know Andy warned us of Bachmann's new announcement policy but this is certainly an interesting and different strategy. Somewhat thin on the ground in my view but then if this is to be repeated 4 times a year the number of items made available will soon build up. Bachmann have also used the usual bulking tactic of adding the easy win new buildings into the overall total. Its going to be difficult for them to keep all the different modellers happy in the long run and will present budgeting challenges for some. For me and for the first time in a long while there is no need for me to add anything to the wish list as the 2020 announcements (so far) has yielded nothing new or of interest from Hornby, Oxford or Bachmann. My wish list is still fair long though and am not complaining as lots to look forward to from others.

raetiamann
I do prefer this way of announcing products. Hopefully it will also allow Bachmann to catch up on the manufacturing schedule without people getting upset over the waiting times.
Pete the Elaner
Quite a decent number of items for a quarterly update.

I noticed that as well....you’d have thought it would have made sense to do all the 85’s at the same time. Also still waiting for the 47/7 in large logo.... I’m assuming/hoping they will be in one of the other quarter announcements...
