Actually, they also supplied a missing handrail off my Ballymoss too, come to think of it.
NIRCLASS80
I must admit I find the sale of surplus 37 419 models rather hard to understand. I returned a faulty one to Rails of Sheffield a couple of weeks ago and got the reply that it was being returned to Accurascale for repair but this would take at least 2 months! This is slightly disappointing as surely the faulty item should have been replaced if surplus became available. 2

Cleared for Dawlish now as much as other trains, and ISTR the Hitachis had significantly more issues at the last big Dawlish carwash !!! No, I did realise that was the case now (which is why I referred to the abominations as Virgin Voyagers), I was just invoking a bit of history. I was also aware of the Class 800 etc. abominations also having trouble, but at least (or so I'm told) you can now electrically couple a Class 800 to a Class 802. You just couldn't make it up.

I would respectfully suggest you take it up with your retailer 2

This was replaced with a brand new unit and acknowledged within 24 hours of it being received at the repair facility. The service received was excellent. 7

I have just been given a fix time of 4 to 6 weeks. I used the term fix, as my understanding was they were sold out, a straight replacement would be great. I have been in touch with Accurascale who have said 28 days so keeping my fingers crossed. Edited May 14, 2023 by dave56

If it’s been sent to us you should have a replacement in a week tops. Hope that helps. 4

RMweb Gold MP40058 Posted May 15, 2023 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 15, 2023 (edited) Has anybody managed to remove the chains on these yet? I will be needing to drop in the EM gauge wheelsets but on looking at chain connections, it doesnt look that starightforward. I know there is a "loosely" based instruction for the Deltic conversion, but it doesnt clearly show how the chains are removed without butchering them Edited May 15, 2023 by MP40058
