Ncl
Hi All. Does anyone have access to, or know of a reference, showing a colour photo of a K3 please? Time period 1938. Many thanks in advance. Regards Nick.
Steamport Southport
You'll struggle finding colour photos that early. But the best place to look is the Colour Rail website. https://colourrail.co.uk/ Funnily enough there are three dated 1937 to 1938. You need to search though as it doesn't let you link to the individual photos. Jason Edited October 22, 2019 by Steamport Southport

jwealleans
There's a good one in The Big Four in Colour taken in 1940 as it works a coal train past Cambridge station. Other than that, LNER Locomotives in Colour has most of not all of the ColourRail pictures.

34theletterbetweenB&D
For 'close up', the best of the selection reproduced in 'The Big Four in Colour' and 'LNER Locomotives in Colour' has the Colour Rail reference NE192, 2438 stationary at York dated 1938; LLiC. The best portrait of one going on a train IMO, on the copyright page of TBFiC. No 207 in winter sunshine galloping up through the Brookman's Park area on a class A express freight, with three fitted vans immediately behind the loco in the small lettering style, so 1936 or later. From the Philip Colebourne collection, no Colour-Rail reference supplied.

Steamport Southport
This is worth picking up if you can find a cheapish copy. Working Steam: LNER 2-6-0s - Peter Waller https://www.amazon.co.uk/LNER-2-6-0s-Working-Steam-S/dp/0711030618 BR era, but plenty of good detailed pictures in colour.
