Fat Controller
That's good news for WR modellers. I had one of the Trix-Twin ones, where the wheel flanges were so deep, they hit the rail fixings on Triang track.

Are Kernow etc. doing both types of cab? PWM650 had the original cab as modelled by JE. The later locos had and a sloping cab front as shown in the photos above. I believe the industrials were also different. Jason

The pioneer PWM650 built in 1953 had smaller wheels and smaller rear cab windows.

bubbles2
Anyone know what sort of dates these were painted all over yellow, here is a picture by Keith Miller of 97652 at Laira in January 1987. and another picture from Ian on Flickr at Swindon on 2nd April 1983. Looks like I've answered my own question the picture below by Brian Danials on Flickr 97653 in new yellow livery at Swindon 23-6-81. montyburns56
I was surprised to learn that these were built specifically for Departmental duties. Does anyone know why they didn't just buy a Class 03/04 instead?

RMweb Gold adb968008 Posted October 1, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 1, 2019 Oh wow, great choice. Weird little shunters that always seemed knackered. I recall seeing these at Swindon, but also one at Reading that was perpetually in the middle of a line of wagons and never seemed to move ! Great choice

Great choice Probably only used on posessions and taken out in the middle of the rake of wagons going on site. I remember seeing one so marshalled at Reading trundling steadily through the station, too late, alas, for a photo. Mike.

Coach bogie
I have no actual need for one but then again, I actually saw all of the class in my teens. Here is PWM650 at home at Swindon, the one they probably won't do as it is slightly different to the others. Resistance is futile!
