cypherman
Hi all, I was wondering if any one can help me identify this loco. It looks like a 3F from the picture angle but the tender looks wrong. The station it is at is Glossop in Derbyshire. About 20 miles from Manchester on the Woodhead line.
cheesysmith
Daft question, but as it is at a ex lner station on ex gc rails, could it be a J11? 1
34theletterbetweenB&D
Not daft at all, pretty sure that's a LNER-ised J11. Features like the flowerpot chimney, what can be seen of the spectacle plate, the stepped out tender copings are right.
cypherman
Hi, Thanks for the info. I used to be a member of the Glossop model railway society many years ago. We had a working model of Glossop station about 20-25ft long in 00. I want to incorporate a slightly reduced version of Glossop into my next layout. So am looking for loco's that ran there in the 1950's. The other 2 stations I plan to model are Mablethorpe in Lincolnshire and a freelance terminus that I have drawn out.
