RMweb Premium Popular Post Jol Wilkinson Posted February 29 Author RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted February 29 I haven't posted anything here for a while as I have been concentrating on wiring up the layout. I have also been deciding what signals I shall need as well as doing a bit of work on the two LNER signals for my S4 Area groups model of Lavenham. However, another AG member and good friend, Dave Carr, has built some models for London Road. Dave is a newcomer to P4 and I have been helping him with converting a Hornby J11, building a HL chassis for a J72 and taking his first steps in track building. I also gave him various"apprentice pieces" to do. He built a POWsides wagon, a NER Insulated Van and an NER Carriage Truck. The latter has a Rover car on it, which I built but Dave painted. I think it is fair to say he has completed his apprenticeship with flying colours. 34 5

Penlan
If your desperate for some early cars at circa 1:76 scale - but all E.& O.E. Then I have these plastic four, which have rattled around in a box for decades. They are a bit crude????

But I'm thinking much of the fun is in putting it together. Edited March 8 by Mikkel

Here is the response, with the measured time and precision of someone who has been a long time in the business 🙂 Quote SLC125 is in stock and there is an add-to-cart button for it. SLC120 & SLC123 are both out of stock. If I make more, the add-to-cart will re-appear. Apologies for leading the thread a little astray.

RMweb Premium Popular Post Jol Wilkinson Posted June 5 Author RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted June 5 I would like to be able to post some news of new stock but the only thing I have done for London Road is to make a start on a RM LNWR 20T six wheel brake van. I have volunteered to resurrect a LNER F6 donated to my local S4 area group. I think it is from an Alan Gibson kit. The body is in excellent condition but the frames looks as though they had been put through a wringer - literally. The model hasn't been used for at least twenty years and the axles were corroded into their bearings and the crankpins rusted up. So far I have been able to remove the driven axle and save/restore the Portescap 1219 drive unit. I straightened the frames and found some horn blocks to fit from my spares box. The wheels are quite badly pitted to will have to be replaces and I will also fit a LRM radial truck to the trailing axle (at the R/H end). It is compensated between the leading and front driven axle but I need to make a new beam and cross shaft. It is now back in its box until the wheels are ordered. A bit of a diversion but is helping me to get my hand (and eye) back in. 22

Mike 84C
I very much like the Clay Cross open wagons. As a child I lived very close to the ironstone sidings at Bloxham Oxfordshire and I remember wagons very much like these. Is it possible to obtain the markings as transfers in 4mm ? a couple of wagons would look good on my layout.

The kit and the separate transfers are still listed although I believe there have been delays in obtaining products from POWsides.

Those look very like the Paint and Glue miniatures Le Zebre models. https://www.paintandglue.co.uk/wwi/le-zebre-no-spare-screen They are tiny little models - o/a length 30mm, so they look a lot better in real life than they do blown up on my computer screen. They also do a Model T Ford, which has endless opportunities to customize, and at £6.07 they are easy on the wallet/debit card too. The fact that they are fully formed 3D prints means that there are no fiddly parts to stick to the end of your fingers. I just took a razor saw across between the dashboard and the bonnet to make a slot to put in a transparent windscreen.
