TheEngineShed
16 hours ago, Phil Bullock said: Ah that’s good news …. Heljan/TMC have covered it then. One less job to do when she arrives, just screw links, wire coupling loops and crew to fit…. And change headcodes, think we have her on the Devonian in at least one direction. That looks a useful photo , where does it reside please?
RMweb Gold adb968008 Posted October 12, 2022 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 12, 2022 (edited) I’m quite pleased with this one….. I think this is finished extremely well. interestingly on DC cab lights needs to be above 50 on the dial before they turn on… Back in 2018 I upgraded my old Replica 45106 to have a Bachmann chassis… unfortunately in the same parcel Ive 1 casualty to return… it only works in 1 direction and is jumping in the opposite. rather prophetically the very next post predicted a new tooling… Edited October 13, 2022 by adb968008
Baggies1961
106 looks great, mines caught in the post strike (more inconvenience for the public) 🤬. Even though I model in O wanted one of these for years. Looking forward to the ‘big one’ arriving next year.

Heljan are good at doing livery variations so I look forward to the economy plain green versions.
w124bob
Anyone renumbered one yet, just wondering how stubborn the type face is. Yes I know there are unumbered versions out there( Olivias commission for no headlight ETH and triangle grill present)but I was unaware of that. So 45133 is on it's way as that carries the most common grill combo for a ETH loco. Edited October 13, 2022 by w124bob
tmc
As promised, here is the video promoting our exclusive versions, but also some nice footage of the models taking a spin around one of our customers layouts. Please note layout is still under construction, but we still think it's rather impressive! Edited October 14, 2022 by tmc

Interesting that the back page of the paperwork states 4 axle drive but the specification inside says 6 axle drive…. And it is prototypical, 6 driven axles. Only external jobs to do are screw couplings, coupling loops and light weathering . Will wait for chip to come before going inside to fit crew and change headcodes… 1V37 Down Devonian and 1E99 Plymouth - Sheffield for us. GordonC
The 45106 model looks good, but I'm struggling with those massive dinnerplate axleboxes

Dont think the yellow paint helps much, but if other details are being catered for, its disappointing if that isn't
Holmesfeldian
You'll also notice the slots in the nose doors to allow them to open wider due to headcode boxes getting in the way. This only appeared on D11 & D12 so TMC may have to get the angle grinders out 🤣

BRIAN T
Hi Phil, received my 15 today, disappointed with the relief on the nose doors though, hopefully some weathering will sort it out,be interesting how you weather yours..
DLIBOD17
Pretty impressed with my 45033. The lifting points are a pain to handle with tweezers & I half expected them plus the draw hook & screw link couplings not to be weathered to match the rest of the loco. A nice model though.

A couple of vertical strips of clear decal applied where the recesses would be, could be used to simulate the recess. It would be raised, not recessed, but with some weathering, might look the part...
RMweb Gold 96701 Posted October 15, 2022 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 15, 2022 Mine arrived today. I fitted an ESU decoder to it and had it trundling round the layout. Jen came in and said “Is that a Peak?” it can’t be a bad model.

A combination of white spirit, a dark wash (enamel based) and a rigger brush. The late Mick Bonwick, who is greatly missed demonstrated this at one of the 'virtual' Missenden events Here is applying the pinwash https://www.missendenrailwaymodellers.org.uk/index.php/spring-2021-plank-van-pinwash/ And here is removing the 'blobs' https://www.missendenrailwaymodellers.org.uk/index.php/spring-2021-remove-wash-blobs/ David 1 2
