Post apocalyptic isn't a trademark Jim. Mad Max absolutely is, which is why it's not mentioned. C6T.

Yes it's a late 400 tourer. It was on the Rover 200 club stand at the NEC last year. What he'd done certainly wasn't to my taste, I prefer originality, but it did look very nice.

It is a carbon copy of the black Mad Max V8 Interceptor but because we can't be arsed to pay the licence we ABSOLUTELY WON'T BE MENTIONING MAD MAX in this advert! As per usual with these things, the complete part work kit will set you back around £2000 for the complete kit. I'll pass...C6T. Thats just 1/70th the price of a real one. https://www.australianmusclecarsales.com.au/cars/1974-ford-falcon-xb-gt-hardtop-245271

I guess we all have a threshold of what constitutes 'taste'? That particular 400 I did feel looked very SD1, at least at the front. But like I said, I ain't got me readers on! C6T. Fantastic that there's folks out there that are diverse in their passion in terms of model and make. I used to be of the opinion that there wasn't enough of a car culture to save cars that I had an affinity to but I can see I don't necessarily need to do it, there are plenty out there with as much enthusiasm and deeper pockets! Particularly interested in this one: I've not got my readers on, Rover 400 Tourer? Love what they've done! C6T. Nice to see a mint one I love those. But not keen on it being so low and I can't see the point of wider rear rims on a FWD car
Hobby Posted Thursday at 15:17 Author Share Posted Thursday at 15:17 From what I remember it was to allow the wheels/tyres he was using, it allowed suspension travel without them scraping the bodywork.
RMweb Gold big jim Posted Thursday at 15:23 RMweb Gold Share Posted Thursday at 15:23 Sorted out an annoying whine on the mini today by having a tensioner pulley swapped as the bearings had gone, my mate then put his diagnostic machine on the car and I’ve discovered the fan isn’t working at all, hence why it overheated on the way into Silverstone the other week ive got to take it back to him next week for him to swap the fan/resistors, drove it home and got it in the ramps to sort out an exhaust blow then when I restarted it it sounded like a tractor, sounds like the chain tensioner is stuck (again) so he’ll have to do that too! About if small issues are coming to light now as the car is being used a lot more as my daily drive as opposed to being a bit of a toy last year doing very few miles
Flood Posted Friday at 19:40 Share Posted Friday at 19:40 (edited) Just thought I'd post my new toy, picked up last month she's an X reg Honda Integra Type R DC2 (UK spec). I've had two before but traded my last one back in 2010. She needs a bit of work on the rear arches and inner sills (plus the driver's door) but she'll get a full check by my usual service guys and I've already had a word with a local bodywork shop that I know and trust. She'll go to a few car meets throughout the following years and the odd Sunday drive but otherwise be kept in secure storage. Just going for nice bodywork with the repairs being colour matched. No concours here, too nice a car to drive for that 😁. And no, the other cars are not mine! Edited Friday at 19:41 by Flood

I'll get her a new set of Bridgestones, they won't be as responsive as original RE010s would have been but they'll still be a good tyre which will last and be reasonable in the wet if I catch the odd shower.

When I went to their first open day, that building was completely empty and I had it earmarked as a potential site for a revised Derby Exhibition. When I made enquiries, they explained that it would be their storage area and car owners would be renting the space so that clever idea didn't last long !! https://www.greatnorthernclassics.co.uk/ for some reason their website isn't working https://www.visitderby.co.uk/listings/great-northern-classics .
RMweb Gold big jim Posted 23 hours ago RMweb Gold Share Posted 23 hours ago (edited) I’ve not heard of that place, can’t quite make out what it’s supposed to be though from the linked page, it seems to have decent reviews on Google though, from the pics on there it looks to be a museum space with a storage and workshop area that can be viewed from above as well as a prestige showroom, all in an ex railway building too!! I keep meaning to visit the museum down the road in ambergate so I might go and have a look at both next time I’m in the area https://greatbritishcarjourney.com Edited 23 hours ago by big jim
RMweb Premium Mike Bellamy Posted 23 hours ago RMweb Premium Share Posted 23 hours ago One of the buildings has been divided into several workshops with the intention of bringing together a number of specialists so that you can get your classic car restored - mechanical, electrical, upholstery, bodywork, painting etc. I seem to recall from some of the initial publicity a few years ago that they would be getting grants to train apprentices to keep the old traditional skills going. It's a pity their website isn't working (or is it just me ?) as I'm sure that will have more info. Although I haven't been yet, I'm told that the Ambergate Museum is well worth a visit - and it's only a few miles from the Tram Museum at Crich - two in one day. . 1
