Quarryscapes
Speedo is taken from the gearbox, which is still rotating. Plus the speedo "needle" is heavily damped otherwise it would swing around wildly like old Minis. Most cars will still show acceleration during gear change whilst the needle catches up with reality. 1

RMweb Gold big jim Posted June 11, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted June 11, 2021 (edited) Bought a set of seats for the mini off eBay as one of the boden cables is broken so I can’t get into the back seat on the drivers side, collected them this morning, let’s say the pictures in the listing were old and they had been sat in the blokes garage for a long time, this is what I was expecting….. This is what I got….. Thankfully I didn’t pay too much for them so I gave them a good Hoover down and an upholsterey clean rhen re-dyed the leather bits going to try and get them fitted over the weekend Edited June 11, 2021 by big jim

Looking at the small hole in the rear edge of the rear door where a trident badge usually sits I'd say it's one of the V6 powered QPIVs rather than the later V8 powered Evoluzione, with the badge in place it would look like this.... RMweb Gold big jim Posted June 13, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted June 13, 2021 Gave both the minis a clean earlier and swapped the badges on the diesel for black and also blacked out the chrome ring on the fog light and put some perforated film over it to darken it down

Not sure I have ever seen that badge on a qp4. The evolution was made with both the v6 and v8 engine (but they dropped the 2L v6) All the best Katy

It recently had quite a bit of work due to rust, so I think it may be going to scrap as it is a time bomb on tinworm.

Could be anything though, even with new shells if the crank is scored they won’t last long…..unless of course it’s a mend and run scenario The cost is in the hours work rather than hardware, is he doing it himself? Presume that is the run out special edition for Japan which were an Evo which were a bit of a mix up of parts (hence the good clock). 22 hours ago, MJI said: Anyone know much about Alfas I know the owner of an Alfa Briera (sp) 3.2 V6 Bottom end is knocking.
