RMweb Premium John Isherwood Posted February 28, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted February 28, 2019 At 20.35, a supposedly brand new loco emerges from the works - a Black 5 or 8F, I think. However, it is clearly numbered 3134, and carries LMS lettering on the tender. Explanations, theories, etc. invited; (.... and no, it's not WD / LNER 3134; later 63134 and 90455). Regards, John Isherwood.
Steamport Southport
8F. Didn't some of the on loan LNER allocated ones get numbers in the LNER number range? Before the LNER 1946 renumbering. Details here. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LMS_Stanier_Class_8F Jason Edited February 28, 2019 by Steamport Southport

Interesting that it carries an LMS-style smokebox door numberplate, despite being built at Doncaster. Regards, John Isherwood.
