RMweb Gold 96701 Posted March 24, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 24, 2021 It's only me, then? My opinion is that Greg Lake had a most beautiful voice. Any ELP or King Crimson track was enhanced by the clarity of his voice. I just love this track. 2

RMweb Premium ColinK Posted March 25, 2021 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 25, 2021 Raised by the Railroad line by The Seldom Scene. I relate to it as my earliest memories are being taken in my push chair to watch the trains south of Durham - I can even remember that they were 0-6-0 and 0-8-0 tender locos on long rakes of coal wagons. I enrolled on a lockdown online bluegrass ‘slow jam’ course for guitar, banjo, mandolin & double bass and the tutor included this song in the lessons. The excellent course finished today, but another one starts next month. I’ve already signed up for it. If anyone is interested in it (or several other music courses) search for The Globe Bar Newcastle.

RMweb Premium Jol Wilkinson Posted March 28, 2021 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 28, 2021 I have long been a fan of Canadian singer/songwriter guitarist Bruce Cockburn. This live version of "If I had a rocket launcher" show his superb guitar style.

monkeysarefun
Scary to think its nearly 40 years since Nina Hagen's Smack Jack. Despite the '80's synth sounds it still sounds pretty fresh and any album that the "Rolling Stone" magazine describes as "almost unlistenable" goes straight to my "Classics" list. Still haven't seen many more unsettling characters in film clips since, pity this version looks like it was taped from some blokes telly (probably some Australian, given the 'Rage" label...) but its the only one I could find.
