Gosh no, not at all. If I could work it out, I would be happy to use Zen decoders. They have a number of really good features. I did ring DCC Concepts to order something and took the opportunity to raise the question. The chap I spoke to initially was very helpful. He referred me to a techy chap who unfortunately was less so. I explained I was new to DCC and could do with some help. He asked about CV3 and 4. I confirmed I had looked into this, explaining the issue and what I had done. He seemed to lose interest then and referred me to their website where they have various guides apparently and that was that. I looked at the guides and altered various other CVs based on this but it made no difference. That confirmed my move away from using their decoders. Rob. Andrew P
For my 08's, (a small shunter) I usually set CV's 3 and 4 to anything between 15 and 25, for a long slow start and even longer stopping time. and the Top Speed to 25 as well. I hope this is of some help Chris. 1
