MrWolf
It's turned out more than "quite well". Try quite inspirational. The difference between inspiration and procrastination has been defined as: Inspiration: 1. Think 2. Act 3. Consider how you feel about the end product. Procrastination: 1. Think 2. Consider how you MIGHT feel about the end product 3. Don't act because you talked yourself out of it at 2. It’s a ‘snug’ fit but it fits which is the main thing Please make the stripes on the arm wider when you get a chance. In round figures a 3mm stripe set 3mm from the end of the arm will look so much better than the Dapol original. 3

Is this better?...I hope so because it took three attempts and attempting to do it a fourth time fills me with dread I knew it was a good idea to have it removable Edited May 14, 2020 by chuffinghell 4

RMweb Gold chuffinghell Posted May 14, 2020 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted May 14, 2020 Well it’s looking more like a railway now Still waiting for the LEDs to arrive to finish the signal box lighting and also some paint to do the roof etc I could have mixed black and white for the grey roof.....if I hadn’t have I’ve ran out of that too

You have nailed the creative process there, but most importantly, you get 1 and 2 in the right order. No matter what else happens, it will work out eventually!

RMweb Gold chuffinghell Posted May 14, 2020 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted May 14, 2020 Simon now has a chair and a desk I found a can of grey spray paint in the shed, just enough to paint the roof I can’t assemble it fully until my LEDs arrive 13

Very exceptional modelling Sir. Just wanted to mention about the signal as well, which is also fantastic. How did you mange to attach that tiny chain to the lever crank. I have been trying to do the same for some time and had given up and was going to use MSE signal wire instead. Now I've seen its possible, has given me new incentive to give it another go - thank you. All the best Mark

All the best Mark Thank you I prised open a link, threaded it through the hole and closing it back up with tweezers, sounds simple but it took several attempts The counter balance on my signal was scratch built as it didn’t come with one so it’s probably bigger than it’s supposed to be https://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/135507-warren-branch/&do=findComment&comment=3903793 https://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/135507-warren-branch/&do=findComment&comment=3901761 Edited May 14, 2020 by chuffinghell

RMweb Gold chuffinghell Posted May 15, 2020 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted May 15, 2020 (edited) I’ve been keeping this under my hat, just in case it didn’t work I wanted a sign for the signal box, unfortunately Scale Model Scenics appears to have a backlog at the moment as their laser cut version is currently marked as out of stock So I drew my own using Tinkercad Arrived this morning after having it printed at Shapeways And painted it this afternoon Not the best painting in the world but it looks ok from a distance and my poor painting makes it look a little weathered I should have watered down the black as it was drying too quickly so became more difficult to wipe off Its got a bit of a bend in it but it straightens out no problem and the spigot on the back was put there to give me something to hold with tweezers while I painted it Edited May 15, 2020 by chuffinghell Smelling correction 8
RMweb Gold chuffinghell Posted May 15, 2020 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted May 15, 2020 This was the smallest I could have it printed based on the perimeters specified by Shapeways, i.e the unsupported wall thickness and minimum thickness printable etc

RMweb Gold chuffinghell Posted May 15, 2020 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted May 15, 2020 (edited) It’s turned out nice again I still can’t assemble it fully because I’m still waiting for the LEDs I ordered two weeks ago to arrive from Scotland, maybe they are being hand delivered and they are walking here I appreciate the post office is under a lot of stress at the moment, I’m concerned that the longer the roof is off the more cr@p I’ll try to cram in there Edited May 15, 2020 by chuffinghell 11 2
