The windows went when the power doors were fitted for GWR as that's where the doors slide into. Some non disabled toilets were retained, but minus any natural light.

You can, if you want, make the video image larger on a tablet or smartphone with minimal loss in picture quality.

Interesting seeing them with a knuckle coupling on the front.

Someone's been round and fitted them with Kadee's...... Sloppy work, they've even left the draft box showing...... 😁

Doesn't matter, I can see them, but they bought two new unused Talgos off the US with a supposed maximum speed of 330km/h.

Β

I wonder how fast they have been?

Whilst I like the swallow livery, I do think a clean set in original colours takes dime beating.Β

On 23rd July 2024 Colas 43301 and 43357 head west along the Calder Valley towards Brighouse, working from Derby RTC to Derby RTC.

This was presumably a driver training/route refresher trip. Β The route encompassing the line in South Yorkshire to Sheffield, then via Wakefield Kirkgate to the Calder Valley in West Yorkshire, before heading via Copy Pit to reach Preston and Leyland in Lancashire. Β The route was then retraced back to Derby.

Thanks Kevin - I spent quite a while enjoying your flickr pages the other day, so many of your photos brought back some very happy memories for me. I've posted a few on the Old Oak facebook page too (with credit to you of course) and they've been very well received by the mostly now retired train crews.
