RMweb Gold Darius43 Posted November 6, 2020 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted November 6, 2020 Then there were two... Next task is to join these two sheds together to make one long shed. Not as straightforward as first envisaged... Cheers Darius

RMweb Gold Darius43 Posted November 6, 2020 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted November 6, 2020 Joined. The gaps were filled with thick plasticard strips cut to shape. I scribed thin plasticard to match the roofing sheets and glued them over the aforementioned filled gaps. They will be painted to blend in with the existing roof. I will add embossed brick piers to cover the gaps in the walls with matching piers to the ends of the shed. Followed by a re-paint of all the masonry. RMweb Gold Darius43 Posted November 7, 2020 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted November 7, 2020 (edited) Decided to build a “lean to” building on the side of the shed to house a boiler, switch room, crew room etc. Couldn’t find embossed sheets to match the Bachmann moulded brick pattern so am scribing my own on thick plasticard. I may need to lie down in a dark room for a bit after this... Cheers Darius Edited November 7, 2020 by Darius43 6
RMweb Gold Darius43 Posted November 7, 2020 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted November 7, 2020 Fixed in place on the shed. Stlll need to do some dry brushing to blend in the new roof with the old. Lean-to end walls completed. Cheers Darius 8

RMweb Gold Darius43 Posted November 8, 2020 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted November 8, 2020 Initial painting completed. I plan to tone down the harsh brick colour with light grey acrylic paint wiped in to fill the mortar joints. The roof cladding will also be toned down and weathered. RMweb Gold Darius43 Posted November 14, 2020 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted November 14, 2020 (edited) Installed LED lighting strips. I used LED lighting strips - the kind used to bling up furniture. RMweb Gold Darius43 Posted November 21, 2020 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted November 21, 2020 Working on a control building using a downloaded kit from Smartmodels.co.uk. First time I have tried building one of these kits -we have a few Scalescenes kits downloaded for other parts of the layout. Cheers Darius

RMweb Gold Darius43 Posted November 24, 2020 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted November 24, 2020 Main glazing completed. Cutting out the window panels on the card frame was great fun... RMweb Gold Darius43 Posted November 25, 2020 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted November 25, 2020 External steps assembled. Each step and the landings were supposed to be wrapped in a paper “concrete” surround. This is too much like hard work so I am going to seal them with Klear and paint them. RMweb Gold Darius43 Posted November 25, 2020 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted November 25, 2020 The cardboard handrails for the steps were, I think, pushing things (lack of) strength wise so I made the handrails from strips of black coloured plasticard. RMweb Gold Darius43 Posted November 26, 2020 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted November 26, 2020 Lever frame assembled and installed. Thick card base added (not part of the kit) to form an external paved pathway around the building. A really enjoyable kit to build. RMweb Gold Darius43 Posted November 26, 2020 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted November 26, 2020 (edited) LED lighting fitted.
