Toss up between 'a round of applause' and 'craftsmanship/clever' for that one!

So, by the same token, the E&G 4th class trucks coaches would be inherently superior to a Midland D299? 🙂

You'll have seen that photo of happy Derbyshire miners standing like sardines in a D299 (if sardines can be said to stand). [MRSC 20834]

If you plan on doing an original E & G train you'll have to include 4th class.

1st class - upholstered seats; glass in windows

2nd class - wooden seats; no glass in windows

3rd class - no roofs

4th class - can you guess where this is going?.....you got it, no seats!

Jim

Sadly it's not to be an original E&G train, but replicating (well, as close as possible!) a train involved in the Bearsden derailment of 1880, which had an ex-E&G loco. I do like the idea of an E&G train as well, but finding reasonable drawings of that early stock isn't easy!
