The trailers (car ramp, ladders and boat) used the caravan chassis. The yellow petrol pumps in front of the Airfix garage came from one of the packs. I had others but can't find them in pictures. Bottom right appears to be a Model Land medium shop featuring older Victorian upper levels.
BernardTPM
Yes, that was the Model Land RML45 kit, fitted out as Woolworth.

Your first thoughts were probably correct then.

Hope one day you can recover it , those buildings are getting harder to find in good condition. Triang only produced relatively few of each kit . BernardTPM
Unfortunately that, along with quite a few other things, are probably under 10 years of landfill now. At least that was a replaceable thing; not everything was. Edited January 8, 2023 by BernardTPM 1

Love the pic of your childhood train set. We need more of these nostalgia pieces! Maybe a thread. I’ve got some somewhere.

Sorry for the loss, I bet it still smarts a decade on. 3
BernardTPM
Found a higher resolution version of the picture and cropped it to show the village. The ladder trailer is near the front (right), blue behind a red Victor. Playpack (yellow) pumps in front of the garage are a bit clearer now.

ianmacc
Here are some pics of one of my early layouts as an older child. It was a big space but with a limited budget A microcosm of train set ranges in c1990! Super quick, Dorbaplas, loads of continental HO mixed randomly with 1/72 and 1/76. 1/87 road vehicles loads of older secondhand stuff including minix and triang etc to fit my budget! I can zoom in on sections if anyone is bored enough lol

quicksilvercoaches
I hadn't done any old toy renovations for a while so I decided to have a go at this rather sad Dublo Dinky Land Rover. Dark green with ivory wheels is the archetypal Land Rover colour scheme so that's what I went for (Humbrol Brunswick Green) and what I think Dinky should have done instead of that non-prototypical bright green they all came in. The tooling was clearly made by someone who knew their Land Rovers and/or had a real one to study as all the little details are spot on. Fit some better wheels and it wouldn't look out of place with Oxford and the like, not bad for a 60-year old toy. 7
Les Bird
Dublo Dinky vehicles were generally pretty good. Their Morris Oxford pick-up is a favourite of mine.
RMweb Premium PhilJ W Posted March 5, 2023 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 5, 2023 The only problem with the Dublo Land Rover is the oversize wheel arches (and wheels). The horsebox it towed is a very good model. IIRC they came together with a model horse.
quicksilvercoaches
I've been busy modelling more cars. Acquired some part-built Rod Parker kits and finished them off. I already had a P5 and a Snipe so now there are twins And here they are with similar but not identical models from other ranges But as well as those, there's also this little lot from @m0rris's 3D printed range. 9 1 2
Les Bird
Nice work Adam. That Farina Wolseley would look good in police black, perhaps with a very small led behind the radiator badge, although that might be going a bit too far!
m0rris
Wow Adam, you've really done those little cars justice! They look excellent. Thanks for your orders.

That would be more fitting on the bigger Farina 6/99 and 6/110, which I don't think anyone has modelled yet. Looks like a few police forces used the 16/60 but the big ones are the archetypal 1960s police car. On 09/05/2023 at 20:27, m0rris said: Wow Adam, you've really done those little cars justice! Good to know, I guess it won't be too difficult now you've done the Westminster. Any chance of a Triumph 1300/Toledo/Dolomite? I had a Dolomite and recently met a 1300 owner who would love to have a model of his car. A Montego is high on my wants list too and would go nicely with your Metros and Oxford's Maestro.

Dolomite is on the longer term list, I'll get to it eventually and may do all of the other variants but it'll depend on demand. Montego is a car I am asked about nigh on weekly at the moment and will be done sooner rather than later. @BernardTPM it feels a little wrong doing the 6/110 my way when your one looks so nice and is close! 1
