This was done a few years ago to warn of the dangers of leaving kids in hot cars.

Australia just had its hottest day on record with an average temperature across the country of 40.9 degrees. It reached 47 again in Birdsville.

Could have been worse: could have been a box of King Browns...

It is said.... that Red Belly blacks keep Brown snakes away, judging by the fact that the box ISN"T full of King Browns, that might be true!

(Had a Red belly living in my aviary for a couple of months... I kept a wary eye on it when in there doing the cleaning. In all that time there were no Brown snakes in there   either...)

We had one in the chook pen for a couple of weeks last year, I think he/she was after the small mice that come to feed on the corn, only seen one brown so far this year, I have been told the red bellies are predators of the browns.

Not looking to be a happy new year here so far, with temps back into the 40's

https://www.smh.com.au/national/nsw/nsw-fires-live-multiple-bushfires-burning-at-emergency-level-on-new-year-s-eve-20191231-p53nrr.html

Unless you are the NSW Emergency services minister. Say hello to him you UK guys if you see him around doing touristy things...

In a statement, Mr Elliott said he considered cancelling his planned trip to the UK and France but ultimately decided to go ahead.

"Bushfire-affected communities and firefighters are always at the front of my mind during this difficult time in NSW," he said.

Then 40 min later.

I personally saw the same thing in the 2003 Canberra fires. The sky went grey, then it went black, then it went red.

So he learnt nothing with regard ScoMo's holiday in Hawaii?

So he found out that he wasn't going to get a refund for his holiday travel/bookings and so made the decision of which was more important.

He should come back from his jolly days and find that in the meantime, the NSW Premier has sacked him for not doing his job! But was unable to contact him to inform.

However, this is more likely.

I am shedding tears here. Many places now on fire, are places I visited just over a year ago. I spent a night in Mallacoota. About 3 minues walk from this picture.

This is what it would normally look like. https://goo.gl/maps/VazhbpbqHpWFZPtB9.

Every time a new report is in, it seems to be somewhere I've been.
