Nice to see the 110s making an appearance, and in mixed formation sets too. I've always quite liked the model, I've had a white one since not long after I got into the hobby, probably bought in my teens, and am always tempted by a blue grey one, even though I have no use for them whatsoever. I still keep meaning to at least fit some basic buffer beam details, though I have already removed those horrible huge coupling mounts!

My DMU to do list seems to be getting longer because I keep buying more, and I also have a few conversions on the workbench, Parcels and a Route learner.  I'm thinking of having a Tension lock couplings removal evening soon, because they look really bad on the pictures.

Here’s the coach before work.

Also added 1st transfers to the doors.

I think it looks much better now. I couldn’t resist having one set of curtains closed. Also painted the seats and tables.!

Now that immediately brings back some 'ear splitting' memories climbing up around St. Dunstans curve between Bradford Interchange and Laisterdyke in 1984/85, although our 'chariot' that day was a green and cream Class 141 !

Thanks for memories 😬🫨😵‍💫

Regards,

Ian. 😂

The GMPTE Pacer project is nearly completed.
I’m using the chassis’s from a car boot purchased Northern Spirit pacer, £25.

The GMPTE bodies are from EBay, at £13 with postage.

The chassis’s removed and a respray with brown bauxite, and a waft on the pacer roofs.

Next is the interior mods.
The top interior is the standard Hornby version.
I have added toilet compartment on the first unit and second unit has the extra seating.
Seats painted brown and light grey on the driver compartment walls and desk.

Very pleased with the Pacer projects and would like to fit sound in the future. Just need to sort some destination blinds and a bit of weathering on the GMPTE version.

Nice to see someone doing something with these basic and old but characterful models. The Hornby 142 is a model that I always think seems to look a bit toy-like but with some very basic work can actually look quite decent for what it is.

A couple more easy mods are to finish off the dark blue and white stripes into the door recesses on the Provincial unit, and opening up what should be the rectangular hole below the coupling on the ends. I've also flattened off the moulded coupling and fitted spares from a Hornby 153 which stick out a bit more on mine and get rid of the very 'flat' look of the moulded ones.
