RMweb Gold The Stationmaster Posted March 15, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 15, 2012 After another great discussion between Ian and Mike of life on the rails and a bit of hot Bz info. from Mickey, do you think it be impertinent for Damian to change the title to "Diesels in the Royal Duchy"? Only joking D, I know that the sign cost more than a dozen pasties and a crate of pop! You could always seek 'Royal approval' - might even get a Royal warrant and a crest, you never know

RMweb Premium Indomitable026 Posted March 15, 2012 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 15, 2012 (edited) Gotcha! No. Temporary band name based on my ability to turn street lights out when walking past them, From thinking I was a freak I learned that there is an acronym for it: SLI!!!!!! I should add that EMI banned me from their old Swindon CD Plant 'cos all the machines went haywire when I went through - I also have problems with Cell Phones and PC's (but not Apples) and also why I'm not happy in ultra-modern Airliners......... Best, Pete. Let me know when you're flying next so I can retreat to the nearest nuclear bunker Edited March 15, 2012 by Indomitable026

RMweb Premium Indomitable026 Posted March 15, 2012 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 15, 2012 (edited) This is very much the essence of what we tried to capture on this layout. For anyone who has been to St Blazey, it was all about what you could glimpse from the canal/ riverside....... A pair of red stripe machines are copped today...... RMweb Gold Oldddudders Posted March 15, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 15, 2012 you are just showing off now! and long may you you do so aka milking it for all it's worth. And, as most of us will never manage anything half as good - why not? Not my era, not my prototype - but superb modelling.
RMweb Premium Indomitable026 Posted March 15, 2012 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 15, 2012 aka milking it for all it's worth. And, as most of us will never manage anything half as good - why not? Not my era, not my prototype - but superb modelling. I am 'milking it', the reason? I've never had the whole thing up in my house like this - with all the buildings, it normally only ever comes together at shows and we never get time to 'play' in slower time like this. It's a novelty!!!

Best, Pete. OK, off topic I admit but as an electrical/EMC/HIRF/Lightning aircraft certification specialist... all I'll say is wow... that must be difficult and yet interesting at times. Got me thinking what could cause it... but a bit baffled. Jon

RMweb Gold Stubby47 Posted March 16, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 16, 2012 (edited) They're all a bit samey, these photos. Y'know, well weathered locos, superb buildings, excellently lit, crisp detail, realistic groundcover, gets a bit depressing for us mortals.... RMweb Premium 2ManySpams Posted March 16, 2012 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted March 16, 2012 I think it's great that D is getting to finally enjoy the layout. Now it's nearing completion and all the work for the mag photo shoot is done, there's time to sit back and look at what he's done. Particularly as some Spam loving so and so has left him with the buildings to play with too. It really is the longest period the layout has been together...ever. RMweb Gold Stubby47 Posted March 16, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 16, 2012 (edited) I think sometimes it's nice just to play trains on a layout, especially if you normally only see it at exhibitions and from the back . P.C.M
Hi Damian, Really enjoying the pics, it must be good to have the layout set up so you can take a few pics and set up some shots to show it all off. Loved to shot looking over from the path with a glimpse of locos between the wagons. Cheers Peter.
