Amazing how you get so used to conductor rail, I didn't even notice it was missing in that last shot!

Emsworth in dreary weather today

It's old grubby 216!  The dirt on that one cab end is so ingrained it won't come off - you can see the 'clean' bit where I attacked the unit number with the windscreen washing brush down Littlehampton the other morning!!

I had a trip to London in 1979/80, I think, and managed to slip the leash from parental control for a while.

I am open to correction and identification re types and locations.

Clapham Junction. (What an eye opener that was)

Clapham, again.

That is all of the 3rd Rail EMUs.

Slide film was expensive for a 16 y-o then with 50p a week pocket money.

Regards

Ian

First one, yup dead on, Victoria. If you look behind the unit on the right hand side you can just see the windows of the Eastern box.

Apart from 5788 fresh from the paint shop, the signal in the fore ground shows an early colour light with only 3 whites for the route and pigs ears by the main aspects.

Lovely stuff, all good small details for modelling.

This evening in a very cold Barnham:

Latest word is that these are now expected to continue in service until 2025....
