I only managed about 30 minutes watching the layout at Derby due to my mate booking the wrong train to Crewe! Then today I got a copy of BRM and to my surprise its there again - double pleasure all in the same week! And plenty of time to take it all in. Additionally I was stood next to 'dcc125' at the show and have been viewing his upload on YouTube to see what I missed! I am now going to read this topic from start to finish over the next week or so and look forward to seeing its progress, well done to all of you for the sympathetic restoration of such an exhibition favourite. Hi, Many thanks for your kind comments about the layout, the work we have done and of course for taking the time to stand in front of the layout at Derby. Everytime we looked up from the operating well there was a sea of faces watching trains go by. If you have a copy of the DVD that came with the mag its got some video footage on there as well to just add to it all. Thanks Simon
RMweb Gold Mr.S.corn78 Posted May 19, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 19, 2019 Hi all, So the dust has settled after our recent trip to Derby where we had a great time at (to be fair we always do!!) dispite the layout having a few gremlins on the Saturday morning but we found a solution and after that we played trains for the rest of the weekend. Didn't get much chance to take photos but here a few of the ones we did get; We would like to thanks Paul and Alex for the loan of a couple of peices of stock for the wekend which cuased quite a stir with the viewing public. Our next exhibiton on the Charwelton into the 80's tour is Wigan in October 2020. Yes it may be over a year away but we have a list of work to be done to add to the experiance for the public and also for us. We will be updating you all on here and on our social media pages as well. Thanks
MartynJPearson
Blimey I look a miserable sod in that photo (bloke in the stripey shirt looking none too plused for some reason). No reflection on the layout, spent quite a long time happily watching trains go by. 1 1

I was the one taking the photo at the time. Gald you stayed and watched the trains go by. If you are at another show when we are exhibiting, please say hello as it would be nice to meet. 43110andyb
As we are having a working weekend coming up hopefully we will have some progress on our planned upgrades to report -and some pics of the layout! DCC upgrades & working signals are a priority as the operational look of the layout just isn’t quite right without them at an exhibition.

RMweb Gold Popular Post Mr.S.corn78 Posted April 26, 2020 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted April 26, 2020 Hi all, So we have started our build up to the Wigan 2020 show as we are hoping that by October things may be a bit more normal and if not then its not going to have been wasted time with some more stock complteted to add to the rakes already on the layout and also introduce some more traffic flows. Some of which require more work than others. So to kick things off here are a couple of photos of some areas that were photographed for possible use in the BRM article but didnt get used. 21

RMweb Gold Mr.S.corn78 Posted August 7, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted August 7, 2020 Hello, So what a year this is turning in to. We haven't been updating as much as we would have liked to, purely as the shows we where due to exhibit at have all been cancelledand this has mean't that we have slowed down a bit of the production of new stock. As a group and having organised shows in the past (for me) and currently for a couple of others in the team we fully support the difficult descisions that the organisores have to face. Not an easy task and one that I wouldnt want to do. So what does this mean, well as a group we have had support from a lot of friends and exhibition managers who booked Charwelton into the 80s without even knowing what we were going to do with the layout and as a group we felt that we should repay that support by supporting them with honouring our bookings in the order we were meant to do them. This did cause a bit of head scratching as we ended up with two weekends on the bounce which was a logistcal nightmare but with recent annoucements of a couple of shows recently cancelling it now means that we can ammend our diary list and support those that have supported us. We will post up the new diary in the next few weeks with a couple of additions to the apperances. Once the summer is over we will be hopefully be making more updates about our projects for the layout. Of which there are many but until then, here is a picture from a recent site visit we did with some bloke called Andy York 14 1
RMweb Gold Mr.S.corn78 Posted August 25, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted August 25, 2020 (edited) HI all, Hope everyone is staying safe at the present time and getting some modelling done. As we have now had responses from all of the organisers for the 2020 shows that the groups layouts where due to visit we can now start re-organising our exhibiton diary for next year and beyond. So here are the 2021 shows, as it stands at the moment, subject to change. Perth Model Railway Exhibition - 26 Jun & 27 Jun 2021 Wigan Model Railway Exhibition - 2 Oct & 3 Oct 2021 The Charwelton team are looking forward to attending both shows next year.
