Comeng in the mid 80's

 

 A view of the paint sheds in the background from the cab of a Class 3100 /3200, the major difference between the classes was that class3100 had Locotrol equipment installed 

 

The box on the LHS on the control panel is for Locotrol which makes this a 3100

And while we're on mills, here's a mill building at New Mills (a fascinating place), from above and below:

Sad fact about the walkway above the river. It's designer was killed in the London tube bombing if I recall correctly. There's a plaque at one end mentions him. Had a walk round it when I was route learning.

There are three (non-scrapped) locos in this shot of Crossley Evan yard in Shipley.

A lot of photters go to Pratteln just east of Basle/Basel for the varied freight traffic. A few hundred metres further south, tram line 14 terminates in the back of the town, passing this chemical(?) works on the last leg of its journey.  June2015
