RMweb Premium Ian Smeeton Posted December 10, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 10, 2019 I am rather glad to see that this topic has burst back into life. A Brace of 14" Barclays raising steam on the last operating day of the season at Rocks By Rail, 10/2019 The light could have been better, but that early in the morning, I was glad to get what I could. More of the same, please. Regards Ian
RMweb Gold phil_sutters Posted December 10, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 10, 2019 (edited) There's only a bit of the third loco in this one, so I will keep the 'ask' to two still. I am not sure where I got the date from. Dad visited the Island in May 1963. His listing for the locos he found in Ryde shed didn't include 16 or 18, so Alan didn't photograph them then. They may well have visited at different times. I can't find the album this appeared in. It wasn't in the two albums from this mid 60s period in which Dad's are displayed. I think he had a section in one of his albums for photos by other photographers, with whom he exchanged photos and correspondence. Edited December 12, 2019 by phil_sutters Additional info & incorrect date 1963 not 1965

Phil, IIRC there was a shed at Newport and IoW steam ceased to exist by ‘64 again if memory serves. I was a resident there at that time.

RMweb Gold phil_sutters Posted December 27, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 27, 2019 (edited) Two 36XX panniers - I have probably asked the RMweb oracle for the location before, but I haven't recorded it! Later ---- Having checked Dad's spotting log for 1965, I think that the location is Worcester Shrub Hill carriage sidings, as this is the only place that he has recorded both engines together. He has 3616 at Malvern Link while staying at Malvern. Edited December 27, 2019 by phil_sutters location query, location identification
