A curious juxtaposition of two adjacent frames on a roll of FP4 from July 1977.  I hadn't realised the link before...

First up - Walthamstow Queens Road, on the Midland (now Goblin) route.

Followed immediately by Seven Kings.

Keep it noble and trainless.

It's always seemed a strange name for a district to me, Seven Kings.

Apparently it's a corruption - no royal connection.

According to Wikipedia (quoting from The Oxford Dictionary of London Place Names: the earliest recorded use of the name is as Sevekyngg or Sevekyngges in 1285, meaning 'settlement of the family or followers of a man called Seofoca'.

Nothing going on at Holesmouth Junction, the entrance to the Royal Edward Yard at Avonmouth Docks,

Royal Edward Yard had closed in 1978, and the box was only opened by special arrangement thereafter.
