EddieB
A curious juxtaposition of two adjacent frames on a roll of FP4 from July 1977. I hadn't realised the link before... First up - Walthamstow Queens Road, on the Midland (now Goblin) route. Followed immediately by Seven Kings. Keep it noble and trainless. EddieB
It's always seemed a strange name for a district to me, Seven Kings. Apparently it's a corruption - no royal connection. According to Wikipedia (quoting from The Oxford Dictionary of London Place Names: the earliest recorded use of the name is as Sevekyngg or Sevekyngges in 1285, meaning 'settlement of the family or followers of a man called Seofoca'.
