RMweb Gold The Stationmaster Posted June 18, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted June 18, 2018 Same signal showing double green - something it can't do is show double yellow although it can show 5 different aspect combinations. (the nearest equivalent to double yellow is green over yellow)

EddieB
I don't know for certain, but think only two driving cars survive from the Southern Railway's double-deck e.m.u.s. An ill-fated attempt to fit within the restrictions of the British loading profile. It still strikes me as short-sighted that new routes, such as Crossrail, weren't built to at least the potential of running Berne gauge such that higher capacity trains could be introduced. Here's one of the survivors - looking rather forlorn. Carry on with doubles.

Mick Careful, there's a lined green van currently en route to chez newbryford, with blacked out windows and medical apparatus in the back, ready to have you 'educated' in the ways of all things Swindon.
