Maybe not quite what was intended, but here is a station that regularly closes and reopens.

Dives-Cabourg station in Normandy is open only for the summer season.  During the winter months (as in February this year) the station closes.

Now, how about somewhere or something hot?

Hot, but not steamy.  In fact, hot and very dry - with the sun almost overhead near the Tropic of Capricorn, a long freight headed by two class 32.0 1Co-Co1 locomotives waits in a loop at Keetmanshoop, Namibia (October 1985).

Steamy it is then.

East Somerset Railway 30075 at Mendip Vale, on a cool June day, 24/06/2007, watched by my son, then aged 7. I posted a much steamier shot from this sequence further up thread but I like this one, cropped from a larger original.

2ft gauge 0-4-0ST Hunslet Quarry locomotive "Sibyl Mary" makes a steamy entrance on the former Penrhyn Quarry Railway 20 September 2015.

More steamy industrial engines, please.
