Following dispersal of exhibits from the erstwhile DLI Museum in Durham, an appropriate display of Railway military connected artefacts was d isplayed at Locomotion Shildon circa April 2017.   (The red nameplate on the right of the display is from Deltic 'The Durham Light Infantry)

Next - a loco carrying a snowplough (not an independent plough).

Kyle of Lochalsh August 1984. It did actually snow on us a couple of days later on Cairngorm.

Combining this with the previous few, a Scottish military connection please.

I have just realised that this scene is nearer water than I thought - I just noticed the ferry's funnel in the background.

Any more over-looked watery Scottish rail scenes?

And the Mexican Bean DMU in the background!

26 015 runs alongside Loch Carron towards Stromeferry (Kyle of Lochalsh line) with a permanent way train, March 1979.  Taken during a college field trip - hence a few fellow students in the background.  Not the best kept of slides, as this was taken on Barfen CR100 (anyone remember that?) and home processed.

Let's head for the hills - something along the Settle and Carlisle next, please.

Taken at the Highland Folk Museum at Newtonmore.

Well worth a visit if you ever get the chance.

Next: More along the same lines.

(You can take that whichever way you want).
