As soon as I noticed you were online, I knew you'd guess the location straight away, but then you should :)

Have spent many an hour stood at that signal waiting to get onto the Leamington branch at night...!

More darkness, at Bardon Hill...

6201 Princess Elizabeth and Class 47 D1755 / 47773 at Crewe on 17 November 2012.  6201 had just completed a round trip to Carlisle on S+C and had a bit of a struggle over Wilpshire Bank on the return trip.

A Worcester bound DMU enters Highley, deserted apart from the signalman getting ready to exchange tokens, on a clear evening in 1963. Except .....

It's actually August 2016, and the DMU is returning to Kidderminster with the Evening Scenic (fish and chips) Special

Continuing with the nocturnal theme - the old north end bay at Oxford with the faded BR blue GUV and CCT, now long gone...

attachicon.gifOxford Bays #1.jpg

Carry on...

I remember them being there about eight years ago.  That must have been just before the bay platforms were rebuilt.  There's still a lot of work going on at the North end of Oxford station, with what looks like a new direct route from the line towards London into the bays.

Here's 180104 on 25th November, wrapped in a special livery for the Old Oak Common open day held in September.  It was my train home from the Warley Exhibition.  The five Class 180s have now been withdrawn from the Cotswold Line and are being reassigned to other operators, so this livery was short lived.

More darkness please, or perhaps twilight.
